Happy Halloween!

samhain blessings my messy world

A very Happy Halloween / Blessed Samhain to all of you out there in the messy world wide web… I hope you’re keeping well and had a gorgeous autumn season just as we did!

It’s been very quiet here these past few months. The other day, I noted down the posts  I actually posted about my messy room update & co. and noticed that most of my ideas in my head were still in my head and have not actually been posted…^^ That’s how good my overview of my blog is currently 😉

Life is utterly busy right now. Can’t really explain much, but it is. But also in a good way. I am handling my mess over here – much more than in my last flat, and am proud of it! I have good days and I have not so good days 😉 But that’s life. I would like to quote my beautiful mum here on that and leave you with my best wishes – hope to be telling you  more about this mess soon 😛

“…uno arregla y uno mismo desarregla, y asi se pasa uno la vida”

(…one tidies and one self un-tidies – and that’s how you spend your life.)

That’s it.

Friday Flow #57: My Little Mid-Week Treat

Ever since I started seeing the little Magnetic Words stuck at other people’s fridges and in so many hostels around the world, I’ve fallen in love with those little pieces. I always wished to have a set of those.

When I finally did find a set, I was living in an apartment with no magnetic fridge door (which is one of the most boring things there are on earth…^^ Who would design a non-magnetic fridge door anyhow?!). Two appartements later I still have no magnetic fridge door… But at least I’ve got my microwave set somewhere where I can easily reach to it. I decided to place my magnets there and to finally get creative and try it out properly.

I had so.much.fun with it!!! It was a great way to relax and come down after a long hard day at work, and I was just proud I actually just did it!

I then realized that I might have been pushed by this video by Jake Parker I found the other day – I was inspired to just finish the idea I had in my mind for so many years and was so content to have created something that it gave me a real buzz…

The whole project sparked an immense amount of joy ❤ . It made me feel good and happy. I can look at my poem every day and smile – because I did it! And I don’t specially mean the poem now, but the whole project! You can find it on my Instagram page if you like  🙂

I hope that you’ll get inspired by the video to go out there and just do and finish something you’ve had in your mind for a while. Enjoy the process – and have a wonderful weekend  🙂

SL-Week #02-01

Happy news – Sylvain Landry is back with his SL-Week photo challenges 🙂 His first topic is “Selfie” – which I gladly join to get back into shape 🙂

I remember trying out selfies with friends way back when cameras still had film rolls in them and the word didn’t even exist… I loved trying out things, perspectives, places and tricks.

The one I’m sharing here with you quite startled my friend and me – as we were walking down the street we realized we had a sort of halo around our heads… We both argued that the halo was around our OWN head so we took pictures of ourselves in turns and realized the halo was on both of us – she saw hers and I saw mine… It still startles us so if anyone knows the explanation to it don’t hesitate to share it here with me – your knowledge will be deeply appreciated 😉

Kitchen Towels (Konmari Method)

I keep seeing all these before-after posts about the newly organized kitchen towels with the Konmari method and remembered I had done that as well but never shared it in a post with you. Since that moment made me so happy back then I still feel the urge to share it here, even though I don’t live there anymore 😉 So, here is my personal achievement: ta-daaah!

watermarked-watermarked-kitchen towels before after KM

In hindsight I realized I should’ve taken a picture from the side to show how crammed the towels were piling up in a messy tower on the “before” picture. Meanwhile, I got rid of so many more towels and napkins, have an own spot for napkins (even a separate spot for seasonal napkins not often used) and I can keep my kitchen towel cabinet nice and tidy without anyone not supporting me in my Konmari journey. And again, dear Marie Kondo – it SPARKS JOY!!! Thank you so much for it  ❤ !

Welcome To My Summer Blogger BBQ Party :)

Welcome, welcome… come on in, sit down, make yourself comfortable! Help yourself to the salads and everything else you might want to put on the grill (which is outside on the balcony, mind you!). Relax! Let me get you a drink – whatever you like, it’s all here on storage on the table next to the deserts – which you can help yourself to afterwards of course, along with tea (yes, I also offer Barry’s 😉 ) and coffee 🙂

So how are you? How was your week? I’m anxious to hear what you’ve got to share with us 🙂 ! Here’s my little story I’m sharing for you for this BBQ Blogger Party:

Growing up in South America I had a very different lifestyle. When I think of summer, it is true, lovely hot summer full of sunshine. Unlike what you find here… Although it has gotten much better these past few years I must say, with temperatures rising well above 30°C and nearly no urge to go abroad for a summer break 😉 But when I think of summer, I think of sunshine galore of course. And of the beach. And there are songs that bring back this feeling immediately. Now I don’t mean the modern stuff which is of course fantastic as well, but they just make me wanna dance and think of the sunshine. When I hear the old stuff that was on when I was a kid, I can truly feel the summer.

I feel the heat upon my body. I feel the sand between my toes as I’m walking around the beach barefoot, holding my father’s hand. I can smell the scent of fried fish and patacones (fried salty bananas). I can taste the food… And I see myself in front of a sea of shells as I’ve only ever seen in one other beach around the globe afterwards… Cupping my hands to scoop the most colourful shells I’ve ever seen (I still have one of those!!!) and decorating a sand castle I’m building together with my brother and a bunch of kids that are playing with us. Yes, that is how I literally can feel summer – by listening to these cheesy old songs.

Let me share one of those with you – the translation roughly saying that you ought to move your booty because it makes you feel better. And that they all are doing it – the whale, the mermaid, Wonder Woman as she dances with Superman, Donald Duck as he watches himself in the mirror, the dog as he begs for a bone… So here it goes – listen to it, try to feel the summer and move your booty to the music 🙂

Right, so that was my share to the BBQ blogger party 🙂 I’m very anxious to hear your part!!! Feel free to share and invite your friends over, there’s enough space for everyone 🙂 Here are the rules again in case you just bumped in (welcome 🙂 ! ) :

Share Your World 2016 #30

I just stumbled upon this Share Your World Challenge post of a lovely blogging friend yet once again and today felt like a good day to give it a go 🙂 Find the whole original challenge description by Cee here.

because you matter cappuccino******************************************************************

With your answers, please remember we are in the SYW world which may not always match our reality.

Do you prefer a bath or shower?

I’d say I’d love to do more baths but always end up having so little time I end up taking long hot showers instead…^^ I still haven’t inaugurated my new bath tub…^^ And then I found out I don’t even have bubble bath lotion, so I’d need to get that first or else it’s just half the fun 😉

If you had an unlimited shopping spree at only one store, which one would you choose? Why?

Would Dunne’s store count 😉 ? I don’t particularly go there very often, but if it’s supposed to be only one store, I’d pick a store big enough to have it all together 😉 Groceries from abroad, household articles, stationary ❤ ❤ ❤ But I’m not sure I’d take up on the challenge because I’m actually trying to reduce my stuff here…^^ You know, Konmari Method and all… 😉

If you could be one age for the rest of your life, what age would that be?

Forever 28 – just as The Nanny 😉 Good Shtuff, eh?! Although a kid’s age would be fun too, but you wouldn’t be able to do what you want to all the time and would be sent to bed waaaaaay too early, so I’d stick with the Nanny-age…

List at least five movies that cheer you up.

  • I know it’s Blockbuster comedy but I always enjoy watching “Nothing to Lose” with Tim Robbins 😀
  • “Amélie” (Audrey Tautou) would surely also be one of the most cheerful movies ever!
  • …dare I mention the “Minions” movie…?! I watched it last year in a cinema full of grown ups… I thought I’d choke on laughter and wouldn’t make it out alive…^^
  • “L’incruste” would be another one of my favourites – just the soundtrack to it cheers me up in bad days! (I wrote about it here)
  • I’d say I’d also mention “Corpse Bride” – I love the dark humour, the puppets, the soundtrack ❤ , the hidden lines… I could watch the movie over and over again and giggle and laugh about it 🙂

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I’m grateful for the many new friends I’ve made in this past week. I hope some of them will last for a very long time. It’s always great to get together with people and share your passion with them, and find like-minded ones all over the world… I’m very grateful for that!

I’m looking forward to spend more time with arts – more time writing, painting, singing, playing music… Some events make you realize what’s important to you in life. I’ve been letting some of my passions aside for way too long…!

Friday Flow #55: Digging Out Some Old Writing

Putting away some notebooks the other day I came across some old old writing of mine, some even from last century 😉 I hadn’t read through any of it in over a decade and it somewhat intrigued me. It all sounded familiar but still I could barely remember writing it. Does that ever happen to you? Let’s dig out some of that ancient stuff and share it here 🙂 Write a blog post and share your link here below with me – I’d love to read some ❤

Here’s my piece I dare sharing with you – the rest was either too dark or in another language 😉

The whole world stopped turning as the moon rose this night

trying hard to be like his sister

glowing like a red fireball

trying to warm up this broken world

but his strength wasn’t enough to brighten it all up…

…like a sun getting up at night to glance at this place

with a sad face on it

giving up…

…don’t we all sometimes feel this way?

(2001)
