Three Awards!!!

Shamefully, I started this draft about a month ago…^^ Now I finally got round into finishing it:

Trying to get an overview of my messy world (the blog and my life 😉 ) I would finally like to share that I feel deeply honoured that I’ve been nominated for three different awards in these past few weeks months 🙂 I couldn’t believe it and am deeply grateful and feel bad I haven’t gotten back to the dear bloggers that have nominated me 😦

As my life is quite stormy at the moment, I will try to merge these three awards as it’s just not within my possibilities right now to accept the three of them fully – so I hope that’s fine with everyone!

Also, please don’t feel obliged to accept the awards. Sometimes it seems like too much hassle, too many rules… Why not just go back into doing this for fun and interest in other bloggers? I have adapted these three awards and please, do so as well!

But let me resume this all for you here first:

Fellow blogger and photographer Sylvain Landry nominated me for the Blogger Recognition Award on October 25th 2015 (…oh dear… talking about procrastination *blush* But you know my story of the last few months 😉 ). Thank you so much, dear Sylvain, really!!!

I started my blog out of mere curiosity – you can read more about it here.

My piece of advice to new bloggers would be to stay true to yourself ❤

The rules guidelines:

1.Thank whoever nominated you and include a link to their blog.
2. Write a post and give a brief story of how your blog started.
3. Give a piece of advice or two to new bloggers.
4.Select 15 other blogs you want to give the award to.
5.Let the nominees know you have nominated them and provide a link to the nomination details.

  • I used to have a white horse ❤

Answers to Mamie’s questions:

Your favourite colour?

Light green or light orange. Sometimes pink 🙂 And I like white. And purple or bordeaux… (too many choices!!!)

I’d love to see Hawaii or the Easter Islands. Or some other cheesy island with white sand and blue warm water. Or rugged ones from up north like the Faröer, Hebrides, Shetlands or such… But the thing is I keep going back to Ireland all the time, my true dream destination ❤ ❤ ❤

My nominations

I will be selecting a few new blogs I have come across lately that I really liked. I think this is all about sharing and getting to know new blogs.

Dear nominees, feel free to pick an award if you like to, and to adapt all sort of rules if necessary. This should be fun and no hassle ❤ Don’t feel obliged to accept and pass it on, either 🙂 I would still love to share your blog link here with others as I feel you deserve it ❤

Those of you who nominated me – you deserve to be mentioned here again if that’s ok as I feel your blogs are worth to be shared and looked at ❤

Trust me when I tell you…

…that I don’t have much time left for my blog at the moment 😦 And here’s the proof:

watermarked-tn_two shoesDo you notice something? Well, I didn’t until I got back from where I went to, several hours later…^^ I had hurt my foot at training a few days before that so I didn’t think it awkward that it felt different to my other foot all in all. Needless to say it was not only due to the injury but also to the fact that I walked out of home with two different pair of boots…!!! I should consider changing my blog name into “my messy life”…^^

Nice enough though to be greeted by my blog feed today telling me that my stats are booming and that my site is getting lots of traffic! However that works, why can’t it work in other stages of my life as well?! But it made me smile and stick out my chest a bit more with a proudish feeling 😉

Let me give you a brief update on my messy life, I’d say you deserve that 😉 :

Best thing ever straight away – I found an apartment…!!! Seriously!!! In Zürich!!! This was only possible after I started to be permanently online, updating the sites to check availability and new flats, trying to write minutes before the person even knew they would post an ad in order to get a viewing appointment… you get me – it was a complete horror and hassle 😦 Besides all that I had to fight with my feelings, low self-confidence, work (which is pretty bad in January^^), health issues (everyone getting the flu around me), The Man constantly demanding things and not understanding that all I wanted was to be left alone, and on top of that: bad weather. Nargh. It wasn’t pleasant at all, I can tell you…

But sometimes things turn out quite great for you when you least expect it. I got a viewing appointment of an apartment where the ad wasn’t even available anymore because it had been so long since it was published and the viewings were full. The lad had been on a vacation though so I was quite surprised to get an appointment after all on an ugly rainy Sunday afternoon.

I made sure to be the first one there and thought the building looked a bit run down from the outside, but was quite pleased when I got into the apartment. It looked renovated, and it was, after all, the very first apartment (after viewing 20+) that held everything I needed or thought was important to me. I went for coffee with my mother afterwards and got back home in the late afternoon. In order to get my application sent that day, I couldn’t just put the letter in the mailbox as it was too late, so I needed to get to the main postal station which would still vacate the mailboxes until later that Sunday night. Funny enough, a storm started to come up and the rain was pouring down. I was feeling sickish, with a runny nose and was cold all the time, so I decided that I would not walk through that storm to post the letter but, lazy me, would try to get it sent per e-mail.

I had never done that before and oh yes, it was quite some struggle! First the scans wouldn’t convert into PDF files. Then the files were too big to be sent… and so on… It was about 10pm when I finally got to send the application, thinking I had no chance at all anyhow and feeling sick and bad and cursing everything…

Can you believe a few days later some lady called me to tell me they’ve checked me thoroughly (don’t look surprised, that’s what they usually do here^^) and that they would like to give me the apartment? She said that they got an immense amount of applicants but that my application was the first one…^^!!! Karma?! Whatever it was – I embraced it with open arms and happily screamed into the poor ladies ear…

So yes, happy enough that is sorted. But that thing being sorted brings a whole lot of further things to be sorted. Plus The Man still nagging about this and that and acting childishly in many occasions… But that’s another story.

Let me tell you that I look forward on spending more time on this blog when time comes, that I can’t wait for projects to kick off and that I have lots of things to tell you about my messy room, organizing and the Konmari method <3.

Till then – stay safe ❤ !

A Few Changes On My Messy World

tn_watermarked-inspirationI would like to apologize for my absence in these past few weeks here on my messy world. Due to massive changes in my life I am not able to put as much time into my blog as I would like to, even though I’d have more than enough blogging material for the moment! 😦

But life always teaches us to take everything step by step. And that’s what I’m doing right now.

To console you a wee little bit, I will treat you with a tiny preview on some of my projects following 2016 and inform you about a few changes:

Friday Flow

I will continue with my Friday Flow featurette but won’t be able to publish it weekly for the moment. I will keep writing about nice things we ought to share with each other, and just publish it on whatever Friday will be following next.

My goal back when I started with my first featurette was to try a weekly featurette for a year – with Friday Flow #52 I’ve reached my goal and can say I’m happy about it and proud I’ve made it this far! I’ve learned a whole lot during that year and can’t wait to find time again to share more wonderful things with you ❤

New weekly featurette will follow in 2016

I am working on a new weekly featurette that has been in my head for a while now. At the moment the idea is still very young and I would like to have enough posts ready in my wordpress outbox before I launch it, so I wouldn’t feel stressed about publishing something every week. (See? I learned something very important from Friday Flow 😀 )

New special photo projects for April and May

I am planning two new photo projects for April and May where you would also be very welcome to join in and contribute something 🙂 My planning has been on hold for the last few weeks but I surely hope to have everything done and ready by then!!!

Last but not least: my-endless-straighten-up-my-bedroom-project

I will be revealing more insights about my-endless-straighten-up-my-bedroom-project and take it to another level… You will be informed about it as time is ready 😉

I hope you are looking forward to these things as much as I do 🙂 Bear with me for a little while longer and I can’t wait to be sharing these projects with you soon ❤

Thanks for all your support so far!!! ❤ ❤ ❤

Friday Flow #52: About Anticipation

Anticipation can be a great thing. It can fuel your soul when you’re feeling a bit down. It can make your heart go bum-bum-bum when you’re thinking of an upcoming event. It can make you smile and feel happy when you’re surrounded by difficulties in life and are having a hard time…

Therefore I feel it’s very important to constantly keep a thing or two scheduled that make you feel that way, that you can look forward to. Life would be pretty dull without those things, and nearly unbearable…

I’m lucky enough to have a handful of such events coming up in February, March and April. Mostly short trips abroad where I know I’ll be surrounded by amazing and lovely people. Events where I know I’d feel at home and happy attending things or spending time with people I care. The more I schedule these things, the happier I start feeling. Even though my situation at the moment can be quite tough, those scheduled events lift up my spirits big time and make me want to go on. I’m utterly grateful for that, for the pwatermarked-tn_old and new plannerpossibilities I have to do these things, for the fantastic people I met to be able to do these things with them.

The funny thing is that many events can also get inspired by social media. One person writes about an event and wants to join it. Another person joins. Until, seeing the bundle of great people that are about to go there, inspires you to also join the crowd and the more people join the merrier we all get 🙂 Mass-anticipation among friends… What a fantastic feeling to accompany you through these days ❤

I wish you loads of beautiful events coming up in 2016 ❤ Hopefully they might fill your heart with sweet anticipation as well! Share your events and stories here with me if you like – I’d love to hear ❤

A Year Of A Messy World

My Messy World’s birthday quietly slipped past me – oh dear! Happy be-lated birthday then 🙂 What a journey this has been… (Well, what a journey these past two months have been!!! But that’s a whole different story…^^).

I started blogging late January 2015 out of mere curiosity. I’ve always liked writing and having a homepage always sounded kinda cool to me, but I never knew what exactly I was supposed to share with the world, my ideas were all messy and all over the place and I wasn’t familiar with html so I just stuck to other regular easy pages featuring art or forums of all sorts.

I first heard about a “blog” in 2004. I looked into a blog of a former friend but it seemed to be more of an online diary, which didn’t suit me either. These past few years I’ve been reading more and more about it: subject-related blogs of all sorts, and the idea sounded more appealing to me. Naggin in my brain for a few months (or years? Who knows?) I grabbed the oportunity when I found myself starting the photoproject of my messy room (the endless tidy-up challenge) and thought I could give blogging a go and write about my messy room and how I’d be trying to get it organized again. Silly, somehow, thinking back…

I mean – who would have thought that anyone would be interested in my mess?! And more so: who would have thought that there are so many people out there like me trying to get their stuff organized?! That was even better 😀

My goal was to get to know people with similar issues and we’d help each other to get organized. Besides that, I’d write about the hidden beauty in our every-day life (to be found in my Friday Flow featurette) and with time I even found a niche to post my photographs by joining photochallenges of all sorts.

This blog has brought me so much joy, and I’ve learned so many things so far! But mostly – I am just grateful for all the lovely bloggers I’ve met here and their stories I was able to read, that inspired me, made me laugh, think, giggle, sad… Blogging has truly enriched my (messy) world so far and I’ve learned so much and grew so much through it…

I’ve got some plans and ideas for my messy world in 2016. I hope I’ll be able to stay focused and keep spending enough time on the blog! Life’s a mess right now, but I sure want 2016 to be a big, good year 😀

I wanted to thank all the fellow readers out there – thank you for all of your time you’ve taken to read or even comment on my posts. I truly appreciate every single visitor and it’s beyond my imagination that I’ve ever gotten so far within a year (well, not THAT far but to me it is quite far I must say!!!)

Thank you…!!! ❤
