Coming soon: Tidy-Up-Challenge-Video #2

I’m currently working on the Endless-Tidy-Up-Challenge-Video #2 featuring days 44-100, so, bear with me. Looking at those pictures in a row made me laugh really hard while trying to find an adequate song to go with it. Not because of the song options, but because Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Ephemeral

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Ephemeral.”

…I must confess – I had to look up the word “ephemeral”… I’ve never heard of it before, shame on me! Because it’s something that is kept in my mind all day long – how beautiful moments can just pass by, only to be remembered by few, or sometimes, just yourself. Somewhat very sad, isn’t it?

It is something I also always think of when wrapping presents. Most of the time I’m behind schedule and wrap them quickly, try to make them look nice, only for them to be unwrapped a few hours later. What a shame! That’s why I tend to keep my presents like they are for a while. I leave them there, contemplate them, go away, come back and look at them with some more anticipation 😉 Very childish, I know, but that way I can keep that happy moment for a little while longer, specially if they are wrapped and arranged so beautifully it would nearly break your heart to unwrap them 😉

Feeling Free

Is it just me and my overwhelming Chaos at home? Or is it spring, which usually comes out with an urge to spring-clean?

At the moment, I could dance a hoola-hoop dance if I only get to throw away or discard the tiniest piece of trash or paper…^^ Is that insane or just normal? Anybody else feeling that way?!

PS: did you ever notice that every blackbird has a different song? Listen to them – some really make you laugh 😀

Weekly Photo Challenge: Fresh

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Fresh.”

So yeah – indeed initially, when I hear the word “fresh”, I think of fresh fruit, vegetables – well, mostly food… But again: I’m not going to give you that 😉 I then started thinking of a “fresh start” – this year, for the very first time, I saw the Zürich Fireworks of New Year. What a waste of money – but oh dear, were they beautiful ❤ 2015 is a year of many fresh starts for me, amongst them is this blog. So – I hope you enjoy my entry for the Weekly Photo Challenge 🙂

Friday Flow #7: The Joy of Upcycling Things

This is one of the things that is getting more and more popular these days: upcycling. Maybe you’re in the middle of it already and are crafting around with passion on whatever you find laying around at home. Maybe you’ve not heard of it before.

We live in a world full of things. We buy lots of things, we use them, for a while, or sometimes not for so long. Each thing gets worn out after a while, or starts tiring you. Some people tend to throw these things away. Others donate them to charity or such. Some things can be recycled, things like glass, cardboard, books, paper and so on. Others will be given a new life – by upcycling them. It basically means giving a new use or purpose to an already worn or used object.

Wikipedia describes:

Upcycling is the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value.

There is a certain thrill into thinking of something new to make out of your old object. You feel Continue reading

Giving Away My Snowboard

A few weeks ago I bought myself a new snowboard, so I really wanted to give away my old one to someone for free. I set up an online announcement and somehow nobody would bite. Then, a few asked about it but didn’t want to come and pick it up. Later again, other people asked if they could have it to do crafts with it like a bench or so (which is a good idea actually, but wasn’t really the plan).

I just didn’t want to put it out on the street for someone to take it and sell it – I wanted a young beginner to have it.

I nearly gave up, until Continue reading

Weekly Photo Challenge: Wall

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Wall.”

Weekly Photo Challenge: Wall
Stone wall in Ireland

To me, nothing is more beautiful than hiking around Ireland’s nature and finding a lovely spot next to one of those old old manmade walls built by laying stone after stone on top of each other with such preciseness that there’s barely any chance for wind to blow through. Warming my back against those lime stones, enjoying the the sun and a good book is just pure joy of life ❤
