Welcome To My Summer Blogger BBQ Party :)

Welcome, welcome… come on in, sit down, make yourself comfortable! Help yourself to the salads and everything else you might want to put on the grill (which is outside on the balcony, mind you!). Relax! Let me get you a drink – whatever you like, it’s all here on storage on the table next to the deserts – which you can help yourself to afterwards of course, along with tea (yes, I also offer Barry’s ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) and coffee ๐Ÿ™‚

So how are you? How was your week? I’m anxious to hear what you’ve got to share with us ๐Ÿ™‚ ! Here’s my little story I’m sharing for you for this BBQ Blogger Party:

Growing up in South America I had a very different lifestyle. When I think of summer, it is true, lovely hot summer full of sunshine. Unlike what you find here… Although it has gotten much better these past few years I must say, with temperatures rising well above 30ยฐC and nearly no urge to go abroad for a summer break ๐Ÿ˜‰ But when I think of summer, I think of sunshine galore of course. And of the beach. And there are songs that bring back this feeling immediately. Now I don’t mean the modern stuff which is of course fantastic as well, but they just make me wanna dance and think of the sunshine. When I hear the old stuff that was on when I was a kid, I can truly feel the summer.

I feel the heat upon my body. I feel the sand between my toes as I’m walking around the beach barefoot, holding my father’s hand. I can smell the scent of fried fish and patacones (fried salty bananas). I can taste the food… And I see myself in front of a sea of shells as I’ve only ever seen in one other beach around the globe afterwards… Cupping my hands to scoop the most colourful shells I’ve ever seen (I still have one of those!!!) and decorating a sand castle I’m building together with my brother and a bunch of kids that are playing with us. Yes, that is how I literally can feel summer – by listening to these cheesy old songs.

Let me share one of those with you – the translation roughly saying that you ought to move your booty because it makes you feel better. And that they all are doing it – the whale, the mermaid, Wonder Woman as she dances with Superman, Donald Duck as he watches himself in the mirror, the dog as he begs for a bone… So here it goes – listen to it, try to feel the summer and move your booty to the music ๐Ÿ™‚

Right, so that was my share to the BBQ blogger party ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m very anxious to hear your part!!! Feel free to share and invite your friends over, there’s enough space for everyone ๐Ÿ™‚ Here are the rules again in case you just bumped in (welcome ๐Ÿ™‚ ! ) :

Share Your World 2016 #30

I just stumbled upon this Share Your World Challenge post of a lovely blogging friend yet once again and today felt like a good day to give it a go ๐Ÿ™‚ Find the whole original challenge description by Cee here.

because you matter cappuccino******************************************************************

With your answers, please remember we are in the SYW world which may not always match our reality.

Do you prefer a bath or shower?

I’d say I’d love to do more baths but always end up having so little time I end up taking long hot showers instead…^^ I still haven’t inaugurated my new bath tub…^^ And then I found out I don’t even have bubble bath lotion, so I’d need to get that first or else it’s just half the fun ๐Ÿ˜‰

If you had an unlimited shopping spree at only one store, which one would you choose? Why?

Would Dunne’s store count ๐Ÿ˜‰ ? I don’t particularly go there very often, but if it’s supposed to be only one store, I’d pick a store big enough to have it all together ๐Ÿ˜‰ Groceries from abroad, household articles, stationary โค โค โค But I’m not sure I’d take up on the challenge because I’m actually trying to reduce my stuff here…^^ You know, Konmari Method and all… ๐Ÿ˜‰

If you could be one age for the rest of your life, what age would that be?

Forever 28 – just as The Nanny ๐Ÿ˜‰ Good Shtuff, eh?! Although a kid’s age would be fun too, but you wouldn’t be able to do what you want to all the time and would be sent to bed waaaaaay too early, so I’d stick with the Nanny-age…

List at least five movies that cheer you up.

  • I know it’s Blockbuster comedy but I always enjoy watching “Nothing to Lose” with Tim Robbins ๐Ÿ˜€
  • “Amรฉlie” (Audrey Tautou) would surely also be one of the most cheerful movies ever!
  • …dare I mention the “Minions” movie…?! I watched it last year in a cinema full of grown ups… I thought I’d choke on laughter and wouldn’t make it out alive…^^
  • “L’incruste” would be another one of my favourites – just the soundtrack to it cheers me up in bad days! (I wrote about it here)
  • I’d say I’d also mention “Corpse Bride” – I love the dark humour, the puppets, the soundtrack โค , the hidden lines… I could watch the movie over and over again and giggle and laugh about it ๐Ÿ™‚

Bonus question: ย What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?ย

I’m grateful for the many new friends I’ve made in this past week. I hope some of them will last for a very long time. It’s always great to get together with people and share your passion with them, and find like-minded ones all over the world… I’m very grateful for that!

I’m looking forward to spend more time with arts – more time writing, painting, singing, playing music… Some events make you realize what’s important to you in life. I’ve been letting some of my passions aside for way too long…!

Friday Flow #55: Digging Out Some Old Writing

Putting away some notebooks the other day I came across some old old writing of mine, some even from last century ๐Ÿ˜‰ I hadn’t read through any of it in over a decade and it somewhat intrigued me. It all sounded familiar but still I could barely remember writing it. Does that ever happen to you? Let’s dig out some of that ancient stuff and share it here ๐Ÿ™‚ Write a blog post and share your link here below with me – I’d love to read some โค

Here’s my piece I dare sharing with you – the rest was either too dark or in another language ๐Ÿ˜‰

The whole world stopped turning as the moon rose this night

trying hard to be like his sister

glowing like a red fireball

trying to warm up this broken world

but his strength wasn’t enough to brighten it all up…

…like a sun getting up at night to glance at this place

with a sad face on it

giving up…

…don’t we all sometimes feel this way?

Tidy-Up-Challenge Video #5!

Finally, finally, finally… I get to share the fifth video of my Tidy-Up-Challenge, featuring days 251-333, which date right onto the 31st of December 2015… What’s my conclusion of it? I failed to win my own challenge… Do I care? To be honest – no, not really… ๐Ÿ˜‰ My life was just as messy as the room you see pictured, so I clearly had other more important issues to deal with at the time. Funny enough – thinking about it and seeing my new place now, the mess really could represent how I felt on the inside^^…

Here’s what the lot of you thought when following my messy room project – I have no idea how to close the poll so here’s a screen shot for you with all the current relevant info:

poll results my messy roomI am very sorry to disappoint the 62,5% of you… I’d say in my own bubble of dreams I was amongst them ๐Ÿ˜‰ It’s very nice to feel so much support though, and to see that more than half the people voting thought I’d make it… Thank you for that ๐Ÿ™‚

Congratulations to the 12,5% that didn’t believe in me – you did well ๐Ÿ™‚ !

As I was about to move flats soon after the ending of the messy room project (well, it was what I had hoped for anyhow^^) I had decided to keep it up until the very end which was the big move on April 1st 2016. So I got picture material of three more months to share with you which shall be interesting with it coming to an end. I also plan to post an overview of everything that has gone out the door of the old flat. I need time to prepare these things, so bear with me…

I must say, only by putting together the video I felt dread towards the mess in my room and completely uncomfortable… I’m sure it has also to do with how I felt in that flat towards the end of my stay there, but the whole mess there… I can’t believe how I could deal with it and I am so utterly grateful and happy I’m out of there and my new place is SO much nicer and makes me feel SO much better… I can’t believe how much stuff I got rid of since starting my Tidy-Up-Challenge or even my Konmari journey! I must say this whole procedure was truly life-changing…

Stay tuned for more! Now enjoy the messy video ๐Ÿ˜€
